Closing Ceremonies (MFA Graduation, The School of The Art Institute of Chicago)
Closing Ceremonies is an homage to Tommie Smith and John Carlos' iconic raised fists at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
Raising a black leathered fist at my MFA graduation was to recognize the isolation I and so many artists' of color have felt in disparagingly white art institutions.
